WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF REALISM? There are many labels for realist art. Our site chooses to identify itself as traditional realism because we feel the term traditional most closely reflects the work we are interested in exhibiting. The labels we will use on our Sites include traditional, classical, contemporary, and representational because we feel these terms also apply to the art we exhibit, and not everyone will identify with the term traditional. What some may consider to fall into these terms, we may not. However, we encourage everyone who considers themselves a realist artist and feels they meet our membership criteria to apply for membership. As our gallery of artists grows, our identity will take shape, and you will get an idea of the type of work we are interested in presenting. Just because your style of art may not be on our site at present, it doesn't mean we will not be interested in your work. We want to reach a broad range of collectors and present work that is unique and challenging. To sum it all up, if you are interested in joining our online gallery, we are interested in viewing your work! There is no fee to apply, so you have nothing to lose.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I NEED TO UPDATE MY INFORMATION? It is important that you notify us as soon as possible if your information or any text or art on your artist page needs updating. We want to ensure that interested collectors have access to accurate contact information and other information about your work. Please check your membership benefits to see the updates you are allowed with your selected membership level. Updates to text information may be requested as needed. Replacement of images corresponds directly to the amount allowed per your membership level. If you sell a work listed on our site, you should contact us immediately. We can either remove the work from our site, or replace it with a new work if your benefit level allows. We do not want to continue marketing work to collectors if it is no longer available. This reflects poorly on both you and us. Collectors like to know that your work is selling, and we want to keep them informed of new work available. To update your information, please send a detailed email to TRadmin@TraditionalRealism.com. Please list your full name, membership number, include the new information and a description or copy of the information that needs to be changed, your contact information, and any additional details regarding the request. If your membership benefits allow, we will make the changes, and we will let you know when the information has been updated. It is your responsibility to make sure your information is accurate and to date.

HOW DO I PURCHASE AN ART WORK FEATURED ON YOUR SITE?
TraditionalRealism.com does not handle sales of art. Collectors interested in purchasing a piece of art shown on our website should contact the artist directly for information on how to purchase. The artist can then give you more information about the work, including how to purchase from them. Please clarify with the artist what the price includes. Some artists may or may not include a frame with the work. Some may state the price of the work framed as an additional charge, whereas some may include framing in the price displayed on our site. Shipping costs and sales tax are usually added on to the price displayed on our site, since this will vary based on the buyer's location. Sometimes the artist will prefer, or will be required, to conduct acquisitions through his/her gallery representation. We encourage sales directly through the artist when feasible.

DO YOU CHARGE ANY COMMISSIONS ON SALES? We do not handle sales of work shown on our site; however, sales may occur as a result of a collector seeing a work on our site or viewing our email communications or advertising. At this time, we do not charge a commission on sales relating to our member artists' work shown through or marketed by TraditionalRealism.com. Occasionally, we will hold juried competitions open to both members and non-members, and we may charge commissions on work sold, which is exhibited as part of a juried competition. If we decide to charge a commission on sales of work exhibited in a competition/contest, we will publish this information in the call for entries and on our website.
